Antwerp Pub Crawl

Antwerp is a major harbour city in the northern part of Belgium, situated in the region of Flanders. Belgium, and Flanders in particular, are renowned for their excellent craft beers, making Antwerp an ideal place to try some of these brews. The city boasts numerous small and cosy pubs that are a must-visit when you are in town. In addition to the pubs, Antwerp features beautiful architecture that transports you to times long gone. The central station is often regarded as one of the most stunning train stations in the world, and the 'Grote Markt' serves as the central square of the city, where you can find some of Antwerp's most exquisite buildings.

All in all, Antwerp is a city with a lot to offer, and we hope that you enjoy the pub crawl and let us know what you think via our social media channels.

The pubs

Den Absjaar

Den Absjaar is one of the cosy pubs that you will visit on this pub crawl. The pub is easily recognizable from the outside thanks to the red bicycle displayed at the front of the building. Inside, you will discover brown brick walls, wooden beams, and chandeliers. All these elements contribute to giving the pub a robust character.

Café Clodette

Café Clodette is a neat and stylish bar. The lighting enhances the overall atmosphere of the bar. On some nights, the bar can become lively, but this only adds to its charm and highlights why you should visit Café Clodette. Behind the bar, you will find a handwritten menu on the wall listing all the drinks the bar serves, and there are plenty of options.

Café Pelikaan

Café Pelikaan is a unique pub with a compact bar featuring a top layer made of marble, a feature not commonly found in pubs. Additionally, the floor displays a beautiful pattern. You will also notice some neon signs on the wall, showcasing the names of famous Belgian beers. It's the combination of the stunning floor, bar, and decorations that truly distinguishes this pub from others.

Café den Engel

Café Den Engel is a cosy pub with a fantastic ambiance. No matter what time you enter, it is just five minutes to midnight in this place. The clock never moves, as it always suggests that it is not time to go home, but to stay a bit longer. The pub also has a genuine connection with its customers, evident through a memorial wall with pictures of regulars who passed away. The staff in this bar, therefore, share a deep connection with their customers.

Café de Kat

Café de Kat is, as you might have guessed, the cat's café. We are not sure why it bears this name, since we did not spot any cats inside, but that did not bother us. The bar is an excellent place to enjoy a drink and features a unique floor pattern, similar to Café Pelikaan. Live music, often in the jazz genre, is a frequent feature in the bar. The bar has a more minimalist design with few decorations, but it still manages to create a cosy atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a few drinks.
