The pubs

Café "de Eland"

At first glance, café de Eland may appear like any other ordinary pub, but upon closer inspection, you'll discover that it has much more to offer than meets the eye. This bar has been visited by numerous well-known individuals, including the King of the Netherlands and the former Mayor of Amsterdam, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

Café 't Smalle

The name of this bar is a perfect reflection of its cosy and intimate atmosphere. Aptly named Café 't Smalle (meaning Café the small), this tiny pub is big on charm and ambiance.

Het Papeneiland

In the corner of the street, you'll stumble upon this gem of a bar. It boasts a unique and cosy interior that's unlike anything you've seen before. Despite having two floors, it manages to retain a warm and intimate atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to socialize with people from all walks of life. If you look closely on the picture above, you will see Het Papeneiland as well.

Café Lowietje

The next pub on the list is famous for its appearance in the popular Dutch TV series "Baantjer". This classic series follows the adventures of a detective in Amsterdam, and this particular pub was featured in several episodes. Interestingly, the show never gained international popularity, perhaps due to the detective's last name, which is "de Cock".

Café Nol

This pub is one of the most famous bars in Amsterdam. It will give you a taste of the real Amsterdam and is a great place to have a few laughs with the locals. It has also been visited by famous Dutch people, such as André Hazes, who was a famous singer.
